Lucy Chen says:
“There is an ancient Chinese saying, 天人合一, which means the universe and human beings combine into one, in harmony. The differences between living things are not felt so strongly in ancient Chinese culture. Plant life has never been considered as something different from human life. It is a part of the harmony to which we must once again return.
I have been keen on nature and growing plants since I was little. I constantly marvel at the everlasting changes of life, power and beauty in nature. The curves and shapes of flower petals are always very fascinating to me. I think they are a miracle of nature’s creative power. They bring with them feelings of peace, optimism, stillness and harmony. While painting flowers, I feel I’m progressing towards the goal of returning to nature.”
